Sesame Seed Toasted

Sesame Seed is the dried seed of Sesamum indicum.  The compressed, oval, tan seeds have a toasted, nutty flavor and aroma!
 
In Japan, whole seeds are found in many salads and baked snacks. In Caribbean cuisine, sugar and white sesame seeds are combined into a bar resembling peanut brittle and sold in stores and street corners.
